My name is Dr. Jamil Sayegh. I’m an international transformation coach and integrative naturopathic physician. For nearly two decades it has been my passion to learn everything there is to know about obtaining vibrant health, passionate relationships, massive success, and lasting fulfillment. Even though I grew up surrounded by doctors, medicine wasn’t always for me. I didn’t find my purpose until my first year of high school. My journey into health began when I was fourteen years old. I was a track athlete who was always sick. I referred to it as ‘my yearly cold;’ not because it came once a year, but because I was sick more often than I was healthy. I quickly realized that my diet was horrible. I was putting garbage in my body, and each day I felt like it. I made a commitment to make better choices, and waited to see if I’d notice anything. The results were fantastic. Not only did I stop getting sick entirely, but my running times vastly improved, and I felt better than I’d ever felt before. I became obsessed with nutrition, lifestyle modification, motivation, relationships, and anything I could find that would help people improve their lives. Over the next four years, I literally spent thousands of hours watching health seminars, listening to doctors speak about all aspects of health, shadowing physicians, learning from the top relationship experts in the world, and reading as many books as I could get my hands on. Without realizing it, I was slowly laying down the foundation for the rest of my life. I spent the next four years studying pre-medical sciences at Fordham University in Bronx, NY.
College proved to be the toughest time in my life. It wasn’t academics that overwhelmed me, but mental/emotional stress. While at school my father almost passed away several times. He had a ruptured brain aneurysm and I broke a door to get to him. To this day I’m still amazed we got him out in time. Against overwhelming odds my father survived. For the next year, every day felt like a nightmare that I couldn’t wake up from. I remember waking up in the morning hoping that it was all a bad dream; that I would walk downstairs and see my father reading the newspaper. As time went on the reality of the situation finally set in; our lives were forever changed. After several emergency room visits, my family began to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I took two years off to help my family care for him. I spent more time with my father in those two years than ever before. We exercised together, laughed together, and he constantly reminded me about the things in life that are truly important: family, happiness, and health. As he began to recover, our relationship rose to new heights. He became more than just my father; he became my best friend.
After my father had returned home, I made a complete overhaul to his lifestyle. I knew that his old habits would quickly be his downfall. Using nutrition, exercise, and simply having fun we managed to drop his weight twenty-five pounds, vastly improved his blood work, got him off most of his medications, and greatly improved his quality of life. He finally had the energy to do the things he wanted to do; his passion for life had returned. One day, completely by chance, I discovered naturopathic medicine while watching a health seminar. Even though I had been surrounded by medicine my entire life, I’d never heard of it. After a lot of research I discovered Naturopathic medicine was exactly what I had been searching for all along. It resonated with me on so many levels. The way patients were treated, the results they were getting, and the quality of the education was superb. Not only would I learn everything a traditional medical doctor learns, but I would also learn about holistic modalities that would allow me to better serve my patients.
Several months after my graduation, my father passed away. I learned more about myself in those four years than many people do in a lifetime. I promised myself that I would never take the gift of life for granted ever again. I knew I wanted to follow in my father’s footsteps, so I applied and got accepted into the Southwest College Of Naturopathic Medicine in order to become the greatest physician I could possibly be. After spending two years as a medical assistant in a thriving family practice/urgent care center, I set out for Arizona to begin the next chapter of my life.
After the experiences that I’ve had I look at life through a fresh perspective. Every day I choose to be happy. I choose to live life to the fullest. Life is short, and there’s no time to waste. I firmly believe that it’s my mission to give my patients and coaching clients the systems, strategies, and guidance they need to obtain robust health, form incredible relationships, turn dreams into realities, and experience a life of meaning so that they can live each moment with complete presence, passion, and purpose. I’m privileged to be able to work with you, and I’m excited to get you the results you’re after.
May our paths cross soon,
All my love
Dr. Jamil Sayegh
